A comedy is okay, but I really don't want anything silly. I will only have one guy for sure, and I have a few non-binary students as well, though they tend to be comfortable playing either gender. I will only have 7 seniors next year, and I don't know yet how many new students I'll have, so I'd like a show that could be doubled or un-doubled to accommodate various cast sizes. I'm already on the hunt for next year's script, and I'm facing many of the same problems so many of us encounter. Other titles you should check out if you haven't already: Each of the individual one-acts were directed by students. We also did A Simpler Time (our last production before the pandemic hit) and it was a lot of fun. Stronger students can play multiple roles in different scenes, and younger students can learn the ropes in one. Some are sillier than others, but I only had three seniors and they enjoyed it. It is sort of a collection of one-acts with time travelling guides. You may want to take a look at A Simpler Time from Playscripts. Subject: Script Suggestions with flexible casting I'll post my short-list and things I want to read to see if that sparks any ideas. I need dimensional characters, strong objectives, and a story that moves the audience and the actors forward from where they started.
